Residents of Nyamanga village in Roret, Kapkisiara, Bureti sub-county, are reeling from shock and grief after two watchmen at the Roret Coffee Cooperative Society were brutally killed on Sunday night.
According to locals, the attackers are believed to be coffee parchment thieves who stole an undisclosed number of bags of dried coffee cherries.
The said watchmen were reportedly tied up and fatally hacked on their heads during the cause of the robbery.
A nearby resident, who regularly handles loading tasks at the cooperative, became suspicious when he saw individuals ferrying bags of coffee parchment from the society’s stores to the main road.
