A woman, whose husband has been convicted of attempting to take her life, is advocating for a life sentence for the accused.
Through her attorney, Margret Jelagat, she informed the Eldoret Court on Monday that the incident resulted in severe health complications, as the accused used a machete to injure her head and hands.
Godfrey Kipkoech committed the offense on April 20 at Chebisaas Boys School in Moiben, Uasin Gishu County.
The court heard that the victim was left incapacitated and has not yet fully recovered from the inflicted injuries.
Therefore, Eldoret Senior Magistrate Peter Areri is expected to render the judgment in the case on Tuesday, following the accused’s submission.
