Police officers in Migori County have arrested a woman in her mid-years for allegedly attacking her husband in a brutal and shocking manner.

The incident happened in Kadar-Posi village, Uriri, where the woman is accused of pouring hot water on her husband before slashing him multiple times with a panga.

According to North Kanyamkago area chief, Silvance Owiti, the victim, Evance Odhiambo, was assaulted by his wife, Emilly Otieno, on Saturday night at around 9 p.m.

The attack left him with severe burns and deep cuts on his head and other parts of his body.

The horrifying attack began when Emilly poured boiling water on her husband. As he struggled in pain, she grabbed a panga and struck him repeatedly.

The commotion alerted the neighbors, who quickly rushed to the scene and found the husband badly injured.

Without wasting time, they took him to Migori Level Four Hospital, where he is currently receiving medical treatment. Meanwhile, the suspect was arrested and is now in police custody.

Authorities are still investigating the reason behind the attack. However, preliminary reports suggest that the woman may have been angered after hearing rumors that her husband was planning to take a second wife.

The police are continuing their investigations to uncover more details about the case.
