The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) is calling on teachers to seize over 19,943 senior administrative vacancies, while also announcing 8,707 replacement opportunities for positions left vacant by retirees.
In a detailed advertisement released on December 17, 2024, TSC outlined the various roles available and encouraged eligible candidates to apply promptly.
The commission revealed that the open positions include

- Senior Principals,
- Principals,
- Senior Lecturers,
- Deputy Principals,
- Senior Teachers,
- Headteachers.
- Senior Masters,
- Deputy Headteachers,
- Senior Headteachers in special schools,
- Secondary Teacher I
These opportunities mark a significant recruitment drive aimed at strengthening school leadership as the new academic year approaches in January.
Promotions
TSC further, emphasized that nearly 20,000 promotion opportunities await qualified teachers eager to advance their careers.
However, the commission noted that applicants who submitted their details between November 12 and 18, 2024, for previously advertised vacancies must reapply.
This clarification therefore, indicates that some earlier listings may have been revised, prompting a restart in the recruitment process.
Breaking down the numbers, TSC stated that the largest share of the new openings falls under the Senior Teacher I category, offering 4,703 positions for regular primary schools under Job Group C3.
These roles form a crucial part of the administrative structure in schools and present a great opportunity for aspiring candidates.
The positions
In addition, the commission is recruiting for 3,653 Deputy Head Teacher II positions (Job Group C4) and 2,221 Senior Master IV roles (Job Group C4).
For regular schools, there are also 2,130 Headteacher positions (Job Group C5) and 1,987 Senior Master III openings (Job Group C5).
For secondary schools, TSC is looking to fill 1,408 Deputy Principal III roles (Job Group D1) and 786 Deputy Principal II positions (Job Group D2).
At the top level, the advertisement lists 652 Principal vacancies (Job Group D3) and 254 Senior Head Teacher positions (Job Group D1) in regular schools.
The commission has also, announced 44 Chief Principal positions in regular schools (Job Group D5) and three Chief Principal roles in Teacher Training Colleges (TTCs).

Other positions include Deputy Principals, Senior Lecturers, and roles in special needs education schools, such as Senior Teacher I and Senior Teacher II.
