President William Ruto and Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition leader Raila Odinga are scheduled to appear in Lodwar, Turkana County, for the Turkana cultural festival known as Tobong’u Lore.
President Ruto’s participation in the festival was slated for Thursday, while Odinga was expected to attend on Friday.
According to a statement from Philip Etale, the Director of Communications for the ODM Party, Odinga is anticipated to deliver a keynote address on devolution’s advantages and the reasons for enhancing it to promote further development in devolved regions.

The annual festival, now celebrating its seventh year, commences on Thursday and aims to exhibit Turkana culture while highlighting Turkana as the birthplace of humanity.
Odinga inaugurated the inaugural Tobong’u Lore event in 2014.
As per the 2019 census, the Turkana population is estimated at 1,016,174, representing 2.14% of Kenya’s total population.
They constitute the third-largest Nilotic ethnic group in Kenya, following the Kalenjin and the Luo, and rank as the tenth-largest ethnic group in the country.
