Road accident on Londiani-Muhoroni ,claims 4 Lives, Injures 56

Four people lost their lives instantly, while 56 others suffered serious injuries, following a tragic road accident happened along the Londiani-Muhoroni road on Monday at around 9:30 p.m.

The accident involved a passenger bus traveling towards Nairobi and a truck heading towards Muhoroni centre.

According to a police report, the bus swerved off the road to the left side, in the direction of Londiani, and crashed into a nearby sugarcane farm.

Among those who lost their lives, one was a male passenger, while the other three were female passengers.

Meanwhile, the 56 injured passengers were quickly taken to different hospitals for urgent medical attention.

Some were rushed to St. Vincent Mission Hospital, Koru Mission Hospital, and Muhoroni Subcounty Hospital.

However, four of the injured passengers needed more advanced treatment, so they were later transferred to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital (JOOTRH) in Kisumu.

As for the deceased, their bodies were taken to St. Vincent de Paul Hospital Mortuary. There, they will be preserved while awaiting identification by their families and an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

This accident is yet another reminder of the dangers on our roads and the need for extra caution when traveling. Authorities are expected to investigate further to determine what caused the tragic crash.
