A tragic incident unfolded, on Monday morning, a as a police officer, part of an escort for KCSE exam papers to Mahero secondary school in Alego Usonga, Siaya County, was fatally attacked.
The officer, accompanied by a colleague and the center manager, fell victim to unknown assailants armed with crude weapons.
As the center manager sought refuge by fleeing the scene, the assailants proceeded to kill one officer and injure the other. Subsequently, the attackers seized the officers’ firearms before making their escape.
Following the incident, security personnel swiftly responded to the scene, transporting the injured officer to Siaya County Referral Hospital for urgent medical attention.
Meanwhile, the lifeless body of the deceased officer was conveyed to the hospital’s mortuary.
