A tragic incident involving 20 vehicles claimed the lives of a pastor and his wife, while 52 individuals, including school children, sustained injuries. Ronald Kirui, the Kikuyu Sub County Police Commander, stated that the injured were taken to hospitals in Kikuyu and Nairobi. Among them were 31 students from Twee Light Secondary School in Kayole. Investigations are underway to hold the responsible drivers accountable for the accident.

At Eka Tano area on Waiyaki Way, a devastating accident occurred, resulting in two fatalities and numerous injuries. A trailer from Nakuru on the Nairobi-Nakuru highway collided with a turning saloon car, leading to a chain reaction involving 20 vehicles.

Confirming the fatal accident, Ronald Kirui mentioned that the injured individuals were transported to hospitals in and around Kikuyu. Four people were in critical condition, while others received treatment. The victims were identified as Reverend Moses Kirimi of PCEA Thamanda church and his wife.

In addition to the pastor and his wife, 52 other road users were injured, including students from Twee Light Secondary School in Kayole who were returning from a field trip in Naivasha. Most students received medical attention, while two remained under observation.

Ronald Kirui emphasized that the drivers involved were under investigation to determine their culpability in the accident. He expressed concerns about the lack of driver discipline, necessitating a thorough probe. If found guilty of negligence, the drivers will face severe consequences.
