Police in Lurambi, Kakamega County have started investigations after a shocking and tragic incident involving the murder of a 17-year-old girl inside a rental house.
According to early reports, the main suspect is her boyfriend, who is believed to have fled to Uganda shortly after the crime.

Police say that both the girl and her suspected killer are likely Ugandan nationals. This adds an international angle to the case, which has now caught the attention of both local and regional authorities.
After the incident, the young man quickly left the scene and reportedly escaped across the border into Uganda.
Couple Had Moved in Just a Day Earlier
Locals who live near the rental house say that the couple had just moved into the house the day before the murder happened.
This sudden and mysterious move has left many residents confused and deeply concerned. Nobody expected such a tragedy to unfold so quickly.
Back in Uganda, the girl’s mother began to worry when news spread that the suspect may have committed suicide after fleeing.

Since she was already aware of her daughter’s relationship, the mother started fearing for her daughter’s safety.
She immediately contacted relatives living in Kakamega to find out what had happened. Sadly, her worst fear came true when they informed her that her daughter had been found dead in the house.
Police Call for Calm
As investigations continue, police officers have asked members of the public to remain calm. They assured residents that efforts to trace and arrest the suspect are ongoing, even across the border.
At the same time, officers are working to gather more evidence from the scene and are speaking to neighbors and potential witnesses.
