In a deeply disturbing incident that has shocked residents of Homa Bay County, a police officer ended his own life after killing three innocent children.
The three children included his two biological children and another child who belonged to his brother-in-law.

According to early reports, the officer was stationed in Marsabit County, but he had traveled back to his home area recently.
While there, he committed the tragic act inside his house. Investigations so far suggest that the officer began by poisoning the three children.
Sadly, the children did not survive. After taking their lives, the officer went on to hang himself inside the same house.
Neighbors and family members were left in shock and disbelief as news of the incident spread across the village.
Many people who knew the officer described him as quiet and reserved, and no one expected him to commit such a horrifying act.
Investigations ongoing
Soon after the tragedy was discovered, local authorities and police officers arrived at the scene to begin their investigations.

They collected evidence and removed the bodies, which were later taken to the local mortuary for postmortem examinations.
Police say they are still trying to understand what could have led the police officer to take such extreme actions.
They are also interviewing family members and close friends to find out if the officer had shown any signs of mental distress or if he had been facing personal problems that may have driven him to the edge.
Mental health
This tragic case has once again raised serious concerns about the mental health of police officers and other members of the security forces.
Many Kenyans are now calling for the government to take more action in supporting officers who may be silently suffering from stress, depression, or other mental health challenges.
Furthermore, child protection advocates and human rights organizations have condemned the said incident
They further, urged the government to do more to protect children from domestic violence and other forms of harm, even within their own families.
As investigations continue, residents of Kakdhimu and the larger Rachuonyo area are mourning the loss of three young lives and the tragic ending of a man who once served in uniform.
The entire community remains in shock, trying to come to terms with a situation that is both painful and difficult to understand.
