The National Police Service (NPS) has reported that 339 murder cases were recorded nationwide between August and October 2024.

In a statement released Thursday evening, Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja noted that this figure represents a slight increase compared to the same period in 2022 and 2023.

Inspector General Douglas Kanja noted that a comparative analysis of murder cases reported from August to October in the years 2022–2024 shows a slight increase.

So far in 2024, 339 murder cases have been recorded, compared to 336 cases in 2023 and 341 cases in 2022.

Among the notable cases recorded during this period is the murder of Willis Onyango Ayieko, a Wells Fargo HR Manager, whose partially decomposed body was discovered in a stream in Khwisero. His remains have been transferred to Nairobi for an autopsy.

In a similar case, a body believed to belong to missing Wajir MCA Yusuf Hussein was found in Lake Yahud, but DNA testing confirmed it was not him.

Investigations are on going to identify the body and locate the missing MCA.

Additionally, Eastleigh has been rocked by the brutal murders of three family members—Dahabo Daud Said, Amina Abdirashid Dahir, and Nusayba Abdi Mohammed—whose mutilated bodies were found in separate locations.

Investigations are however, ongoing.
