Raila Odinga‘s wife, Mama Betty Ida Odinga received the honorary title of Canon from the Anglican Church of Kenya in the Diocese of South Nyanza, Homa Bay.
The special ordination ceremony took place on Sunday, 20th October at Christ the Healer Cathedral In Homa Bay.

Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga, who was also present at the event, praised Mama Ida as the “newest canon in town” and extended her heartfelt congratulations.
Mombasa Governor Abdulswamad Nassir too congratulated Mama Ida, commending her for the well-deserved recognition, highlighting her dedication to service, leadership, and faith.
