Altar wine and bread stolen in late-night church break-In.

Police have started investigating a break-in at a church in Kirinyaga. During the incident, thieves broke into ACK St. Matthew’s Mutithi Church, drank altar wine, ate sacramental bread, and stole church property.

As a result, many residents are still shocked and confused by what happened.

The church’s vice chairman, Eliud Githaka, explained that choir members discovered the theft. First, they noticed the keyboard was missing. Then, they realized other items were gone too.

At the same time, the night guard came under fire. Since the robbery happened during his shift, many believe he was asleep.

“The guard didn’t even notice the break-in,” some residents said. “We think he was sleeping on the job.”

Later that night, police officers arrived at the scene. They promised the church that investigations are still going on.

Meanwhile, church leaders have decided to take action. “We can no longer rely on this guard,” they said. “From now on, we will hire our own security team.”
