Juja Member of Parliament (MP) George Koimburi has been found abandoned in a coffee plantation in Kiambu County.
His family has confirmed that he is alive and is now receiving medical care at Plainsview Hospital, which is located near Ruiru town.
According to reports, unknown individuals abducted the MP on Sunday. The incident happened just outside a church in Mugutha, which is also in Kiambu County.

During the chaos, Mr. Koimburi’s wife, Ann Koimburi, was hurt. She suffered injuries while trying to protect her husband during the scuffle.
Meanwhile, a video recording of the abduction has surfaced. The footage shows the MP being forced into a silver Subaru Forester.
The vehicle had civilian number plates, not government or police ones, therefore raising more questions about who might be behind the incident.
DCI’s involment
In response, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has denied any involvement or role in the MP’s abduction.
However, the DCI did confirm that they have been looking for Koimburi since Friday. They say he is under investigation for possible involvement in land fraud and the misuse of Constituency Development Funds (CDF).
At the same time, His wife, Mrs. Koimburi has expressed deep frustration with how the situation is being handled.
She explained that this is not the first time the authorities have targeted her husband. On previous occasions, she said, the police took his phone and vehicle for investigation.
Despite this, the family was never given clear answers about what was going on or where Koimburi was taken.
The situation surrounding MP George Koimburi’s abduction remains unclear. His family, friends, and constituents are demanding answers and justice.
As investigations continue, many Kenyans are closely watching to see what happens next.
