Kenya Junior Starlets forward Joan Ogola is optimistic that her team will secure a victory against Uganda in the second round of the U-17 FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifier.
The two teams will face off in a decisive return leg at Nyayo Stadium, Kenya on 16th March, Sunday afternoon.

The Kenyan squad, coached by Mildred Cheche, holds a strong position going into the match, having secured a vital 2-0 win in the first leg played last Saturday at Nakivubo Hamz Stadium in Kampala.
Ogola, a Grade Nine student at ST Maurice Mwira Girls in Matungu, Kakamega, is eager to score in the upcoming match.
She previously provided an assist during Kenya’s 2-1 victory over Mexico in the U-17 Women’s World Cup match played in the Dominican Republic in October 2024.
Reflecting on her journey with the national team, Ogola expressed confidence in their ability to dominate Uganda.
“Since joining the Starlets in 2024, I have provided two assists. In the first leg against Uganda, I scored my first goal, which gave me a huge boost. As we prepare for the second leg on Sunday, we are ready and determined to use our home advantage to secure a convincing win,” she said.
Her teammate, defender Lorine Ilavonga, echoed the same confidence, emphasizing their commitment to the game.
