3 die in a tragic road crash, leaves several injured

On Monday morning, a terrible road accident at Kwambira along the busy Nairobi-Nakuru highway claimed the lives of three people.

Several others were seriously injured during the crash, which involved a 14-seater matatu and a canter truck.

According to reports, the matatu, which belonged to Trippin Luxury and was heading toward Nairobi, collided head-on with the canter. The crash happened suddenly, causing a scene of panic and tragedy on the road.

A witness named Patrick Macharia, who saw the accident unfold, said the matatu was speeding at the time of the collision. He believes that the overspeeding by the matatu driver may have caused the crash.

This tragic incident has left many families in pain and has raised new concerns about road safety on this particular highway. Shockingly, this is not the first accident to occur at this exact location.

Just a few days earlier, on Thursday, another deadly crash happened at the same spot. In that incident, five people lost their lives after a private 14-seater vehicle suffered a tyre burst, lost control, and rolled several times.

Conform to traffic rules

While confirming the Monday morning crash, Limuru Sub-County Police Commander Mary Gachie urged all drivers to be extra careful when using the road.

She specifically warned against speeding and careless overtaking. She reminded motorists to always follow traffic rules and drive responsibly, especially in known black spots like Kwambira.
