An unidentified woman recently abducted a one-and-a-half-year-old girl in Kayole by enticing her with the promise of groundnuts.
Chesley Wangui was playing with fellow children when the stranger approached, making the tempting offer.
As the children followed her to the shops, she seized the little girl and vanished, leaving her mother, Tamara Nyambura, in anguish.
Tamara reported that the situation took a turn for the worse following a dispute with her child’s father. As a result, she made the decision to leave his residence, taking their baby with her.
Tough economic times
Following a report from TUKO.co.ke Tamara explained that she entrusted her toddler, Chelsey Wangui Nyambura, who will be turning two in September, to a friend residing in Nairobi’s Kayole estate as she sought out ways to uplift their lives.
“My idea was for Chelsey to live somewhere comfortable while I stabilized and looked for a way out to bring her back to my place,” the heartbroken mother said.
However, her world came to a standstill when her friend called her inquiring why she had choose to take Wangui back without informing her.

She and her friend later came to know through investigation that some woman had approached the children while they were playing and offered to buy for them groundnuts if they followed her to the kioks.
News that the children received with great joy where the culprit got her chance to get away with the one-year old.
“Our investigations revealed that some young woman came to where the babies were playing and asked them to accompany her so that she buys them nuts,” said Tamara.
The incident have since being reported at Kayole Police station and the investigation is ongoing
Unfortunately, no word has been about the little girl ever since.
